ROLE OF IQAC

The primary functions of an IQAC include:
  1. Development and Application of Quality Benchmarks: Establishing benchmarks and parameters for academic and administrative activities to ensure quality standards are met.
  2. Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly monitoring and evaluating the performance of various departments, programs, and processes against set benchmarks.
  3. Quality Improvement Initiatives: Initiating and overseeing measures for continuous quality improvement, including faculty development programs, infrastructure enhancement, and curriculum revision.
  4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining comprehensive documentation of all quality-related activities and preparing reports for internal assessment and external accreditation.
  5. Coordination with Accreditation Bodies: Interacting with accrediting agencies and regulatory bodies to facilitate the accreditation process and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  6. Promotion of Best Practices: Identifying and disseminating best practices in teaching, learning, research, and administration across the institution.
  7. Stakeholder Engagement: Engaging with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and industry, to gather feedback and incorporate their perspectives into quality enhancement efforts.
  8. Overall, the IQAC plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of quality consciousness and continuous improvement within educational institutions, ultimately contributing to their overall academic excellence and reputation.

The AQAR is typically submitted to the institution’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), which then reviews the report, provides feedback, and ensures its dissemination to relevant stakeholders. Additionally, the AQAR may serve as a basis for strategic planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement efforts in subsequent academic years.
