Our Mission is to establish an institution which has necessary infrastructure, qualified staff and enabling environment that will train teachers who will endeavor to guide students to develop intellectual curiosity, to think logically, to be creative and to live ethically.

Objective

The Michael Job College Memorial College of Education for Women is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU) and is granted legal permission to offer B.Ed and M.Ed programmes at MJCOE. MJCOE is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)with a “B+”. The NAAC is an autonomous organisation established with the objective of helping institutes to work towards the betterment in the quality of education. Further, the MJCOE is recognised by NCTE and diligently follows the guidelines prescribed by the same.

About The College

“Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is inspiring change” -William Arthur Ward Continuing in our pursuit of women empowerment; The Michael Job Memorial College of Education For Women (MJCOE) was established, in Coimbatore, in the year 2004 by Dr. P. P. Job to train teachers to inspire and nurture young women to become responsible individuals of the world. Affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University and accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), MJCOE has proved itself to be a centre of excellence with regard to offering the best programmes in Bachelor of Education and Master of Education, in the state.

As an institution, Michael Job Memorial College of Education For Women (MJCOE) renders quality education for student teachers, with the support of innovative teaching methodologies significant to the prevailing learning conditions. We not only prepare our students to teach for Secondary Schools but also for other opportunities related to the digital world e.g. online tutors, content writers, curriculum designers etc.
The main aspiration of our institution is to empower each and every student teacher to become a proficient and confident educator to meet the academic challenges of the 21st century. With the change in technology, our way of communication and the role each teacher needs to play has also changed. We train our student teachers to be creative, collaborative and innovative in the field of education. I am pleased to share that we are the forerunners in implementing techno-pedagogy at our institution.

Research Advisory Committee (RAC)

Research Advisory Committee (RAC) is typically established within academic institutions, engaged in research activities. NSS

NSS stands for National Service Scheme, which is a public service program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. NSS aims to engage young students in voluntary community service to address various social issues and contribute to nation-building.

Integrating NSS in to MJCOE provides students with valuable opportunities to engage in meaningful community service, develop essential skills and competencies, and cultivate a sense of civic engagement and social responsibility that aligns with the ethos of teacher education. It also fosters a deeper understanding of educational issues and challenges faced by diverse communities, thereby preparing future educators to be socially conscious and empathetic professionals.

YRC

The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a program initiated and operated by the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), a humanitarian organization recognized globally for its efforts in providing aid and support during emergencies and disasters. The YRC specifically targets young people, aiming to involve them in humanitarian activities, community service, and health promotion initiatives.

Youth Red Cross program plays a vital role in empowering young people to become agents of positive change in their communities. By engaging in humanitarian service, health promotion, and community development activities, YRC volunteers contribute to building healthier, safer, and more resilient societies while developing valuable skills and qualities that benefit them personally and professionally.

RRC

The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is a voluntary initiative supported by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) in India. It aims to promote awareness about HIV/AIDS, prevent the spread of the disease, and reduce stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS. Establishing a Red Ribbon Club in MJCOE is a valuable initiative to engage student teachers in HIV/AIDS prevention and advocacy activities.

Students Grievance Redressal Committee
