Library Advisory Committee (LAC)
The Library Advisory Committee (LAC) is an essential component of the academic infrastructure in MJCOE. Its primary role is to provide guidance and support to ensure that the library effectively meets the academic and research needs of students, faculty, and staff. The LAC is dedicated to fostering an enriching learning environment by enhancing the library’s resources, services, and facilities. As a cornerstone of academic excellence, our library serves as a hub for knowledge, research, and intellectual growth, guided by the vision of the LAC.
The Library Advisory Committee plays a vital role in guiding the strategic direction, enhancing the quality, and ensuring the relevance of library services and resources in a College of Education. By collaborating with library staff and engaging with the committee helps create an enriching and supportive learning environment that fosters academic success and research excellence.
About LAC
- Composition: The LAC comprises of faculty members, librarians, and external experts with backgrounds in education, library sciences, and technology. It may also have representatives from various departments.
- Guidance and Mentorship: The RAC offers guidance to enhance library services and mentoring students on using library resources and digital tools effectively.
- Resource Review and Development: Regularly reviews the library’s collection, recommends procurement of books, journals, and e-resources, and ensures the adoption of updated technologies.
- Policy Formulation: Develops policies for borrowing, digital access, and library management while ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines.
- Events and Initiatives: Organizes workshops, seminars, and events to promote reading culture, information literacy, and discussions on library sciences.
- Feedback and Improvement: Collects feedback from users to enhance services and collaborates with other departments or experts to align resources with academic and research needs.
Objectives
