MJCOE showcased its commitment to social responsibility by organizing an Environment Awareness and General Health Camp on 09th October 2024 in Arasur village of Coimbatore with the support of students and faculty members at MJCOE. The event has been conducted with the view to teach students and faculty about community engagement as part of community outreach initiative. The event aimed to educate residents on environmental issues and promote healthy practices. Upon arrival at the Arasur Panchayat office, our team received a warm and gracious welcome from the Village President and local officials. Their exceptional hospitality and enthusiasm laid the foundation for a productive and successful day. Following the formal welcome, the students embarked on a door-to-door awareness campaign in Arasur village, equipped with informative charts and posters. Through personalized interactions, the campaign featured talks and interactive sessions by the students on key environmental and health issues, environmental conservation, sustainable living, waste management, nutrition, and disease prevention emphasizing waste segregation and recycling, reducing plastic use and adopting eco-friendly alternatives, water and energy conservation, and essential health practices (sanitation, hygiene, and nutrition). As part of our outreach initiative, a student-led survey was conducted to identify knowledge gaps among villagers, informing future targeted education efforts. The event successfully raised awareness and inspired villagers to adopt healthier and more sustainable lifestyles.
