The research colloquium programme was inaugurated by Dr.R.Ravi, Principal, Michael Job Memorial College of Education for Women. A total of 47 participated in this colloquium. The session was engaged by Dr.P.Thiruselvi, Assistant Professor of our college presented her topic on Review of Related Literature. This session was paid much attention on the purpose and importance of Review of Related Literature in research field.

 Short description of this paper:

A literature review is an important feature in any academic project. It gives an overview of the previously published works on a particular topic. Identifying research gaps is a basic goal in literature reviewing. With the review of literature, we can understand the  research work  carried out by others and it will support us to continue our study in that area. The presenter explained the meaning and importance of reviewing the literature very clearly. Moreover she elucidated the way of writing a literature through her presentation. In addition she highlighted the different types of literature reviews such as argumative, integrative, historical, methodological, systematic and theoretical reviews. Finally she concluded her presentation in a clear way that the review of literature gives a solid foundation of knowledge to the researcher in his/her particular research area.

Discussion Session:

            After the presentation, discussion was held in a successful manner. The discussion was convened by Dr. R.Ravi, Principal, Michael Job Memorial College of Education for Women.  He called upon participants to ask and clarify their doubts in the review of related literature. The presenter answered the participants questions in a well manner. Finally Dr.R.Ravi, Principal also clarified the participants doubts. By this colloquium, participants gained sufficient research knowledge and really this session was a valuable and useful one.
