On 20th May 2022, Department of English, Michael Job Memorial College of Education for Women has organized a webinar on Role of English as Second Language in School Curriculum for faculty members and students of B.Ed & M.Ed Courses.
It was organized and headed by Dr.P.Thiruselvi, Assistant Professor. The objective of the webinar was to identify the position of English Language in the School Curriculum at primary and secondary levels.
It was conducted virtually through Google Meet. The speaker was Mrs. KAMATCHI SHYAMSUNDAR, M. Sc., M. A., M. Ed, Headmistress, Pallotti Higher Secondary School, Madurai.
The session started with the Welcome address, delivered by Suba Lakshmi from I- B.Ed. Smirna Joys Christy from II-B.Ed has introduced the speaker. Special address was delivered by our respected Principal, Dr.R.Ravi. He insisted the need and importance of English as Second Language in Schools and Colleges.
Mrs. Kamatchi, the guest speaker has presented an extensive manuscript on Language Policies, Role of English in Curriculum, the need and importance of developing language skills and benefits of learning English as a second language.
The session was very interactive as the participants asked questions and cleared their doubts. The session ended up with the vote of thanks delivered by Sowmya from I-B.Ed.
